Some strong contenders added this week to A Routes & Branches Guide To Feeding Your Monster, our running tally of new releases. Ryan Adams has earned himself a place well off the radar of all but the most stalwart of fans, and what he's doing with the space is interesting. Adams has announced his third (3rd) record of the year: FM is set for an August 19 release (PaxAm). Todd Snider was once among our most worthy songwriters, even if recent years have seen him falling off his earlier pace. He's set a September 23 date for Live Return of the Storyteller (Aimless). Will Sheff has served as the frontguy for Okkervil River since their 1998 formation. He's announced a date for his first solo record. Nothing Special will hit shelves on October 7, courtesy of ATO. Nora O'Connor has served as a support singer and musician for many americana and alt.country acts over the years. She's recorded My Heart, only her 3rd solo album for an October 7 debut (Pravda). Finally, the ever-occupied Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) has collaborated with Jess Williamson under the guise of Plains. Expect Walk With You a Ways October 14 via the Anti label.
