Even as I take an early tentative pass at my favorites list for 2022, we continue to add new stuff to A Routes & Branches Guide To Feeding Your Monster, forthcoming releases that threaten to mess with those best laid plans. No one here gets out alive. Tallest Man on Earth's first project for his new Anti label home is a collection of covers. Too Late For Edelweiss features Kristian Matsson's take on tunes originally by Lucinda Williams, Yo La Tengo, The National and more (Sep 23). On the heels of her 2021 Oh Boy debut, American Siren, Emily Scott Robinson takes an artistic left turn. Due October 28, Built On Bones EP collects songs Robinson wrote for a stage production about the witches of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Following a couple releases with TK & the Holy Know-Nothings, Taylor Kingman returns to his roots as a solo songwriter. Hollow Sound arrives courtesy of Mama Bird, landing on shelves on November 18. The Cornelius Chapel label presents an LP that brings together songwriters Sarah Lee Langford and Will Stewart. Expect Bad Luck & Love on November 18. Finally, we're pushing our release calendar into 2023 with news of Margo Price's next full-length. Arriving January 13, Strays starts the year off right (Loma Vista).
