THURSDAY MORNING MIX
April 16, 2009
Scott Foley

Very nice to chat with Mickey Raphael this Episode. Mickey is known as the longtime sideman for Willie (Nelson), but he has tagged his trademark harmonica sounds to countless tracks, crossing every genre imaginable. Aside from some uncalled-for feedback, I believe it stuck.

Today's Episode also introduced Steve Earle's forthcoming tribute to Townes Van Zandt, Townes. To my delight, it sounds just like Steve Earle covering TVZ songs ... I'm thrilled as well to finally dig into Yonder Is the Clock, the Felice Bros long-awaited (by me) follow up to their self-titled release.

Much much more ... blah blah blah ... americana ... blah blah ... onward:

Missed your show due to streaming problems. Would've loved to hear the interview.

I'm interviewing Michelle Malone in a couple of weeks - can hardly wait.

I'm glad you're playing Star Anna, I'm going to dinner with her and her band on Saturday. I'd love to tell them your interpretation of the new disc.

Scott ~ Yeah. I don't understand your disappointment about the new album. I've been listening to it for a few weeks, and find it different, but excellent; one of the better albums of the year.

On a related note, what do you think of the new Believers?
