Every Thursday we feature a handful of pieces from other blogs that keep you updated on what's going on with our kind of music, and why you should care. We finish with a run through some of the forthcoming releases we've added to our calendar. And if we're not careful we just might learn something before it's done.

On the occasion of the release of their Last Frontier record, Reckless Kelly's Willy Braun joins Bluegrass Situation for their brief 5+5 questionnaire.

On the occasion of the R&B review of their Watch Me Drive Them Dogs Wild, Merce Lemon sits down with Brooklyn Vegan to discuss ten (10) artists who influenced the new songs.

Yasmin Williams has earned an extended interview at Stereogum, just ahead of her vaunted Acadia release.

We've been streaming an advance of Wild Pink's pending Dulling the Horns. The band's John Ross spends a moment with Medium Rotation about that record, as well as Ben Keith's pedal steel on Neil Young's Harvest

A number of weeks ago we shared some news about Neko Case's January memoir, The Harder I Fight the More I Love You. Vermont's Seven Days checks in with Neko about the book, as well as some new music and the rumor of Broadway plans.

A Routes & Branches Guide To Feeding Your Monster is our impeccably curated new release calendar, your best way of keeping up with what's new and what's next in our kind of music. This week we added an album announcement from Tucker Riggleman & Cheap Dates. They'll be celebrating Bandcamp Friday with a full-length Live and Restless At Olde Mother, with some proceeds being directed to flood recovery efforts in their North Carolina home. Madi Diaz released the excellent Weird Faith back in February. It must be time for a deluxe edition, to hit shelves October 25 via Anti Records, with a couple new songs and a buncha demos. Generational bluegrass talents Yonder Mountain String Band return with another collection that overflows the bounds of their genre. Nowhere Next comes November 8 by the grace of their Frog Pad label. Cracker are back with a 3-LP, 2-CD set of re-recordings, demos, outtakes, and live cuts. Cooking Vinyl will share Alternative History: A Cracker Retrospective on November 22. Finally, Tara Lindeman will celebrate the new year with a new LP under her Weather Station moniker. Expect Humanhood on January 17 (Fat Possum).
