Murder by Death have had enough per Stereogum, and are calling it quits following a pretty substantial tour and one final record.

--------------------------

Blood On the Tracks has turned fifty. The quintessential Dylan document (okay, maybe Empire Burlesque?) was celebrated with a star-studded 50th anniversary concert featuring Lucinda Williams, Chatham County Line, War On Drugs' Adam Granduciel and many (so many) more. Check out Stereogum (again) for more.

--------------------------

It seems Lucinda Williams is still out there, promoting her memoir and her collection of Beatles covers. She speaks with Louisville Public Media, sharing thoughts as well about Dylan and Petty and Springsteen.

--------------------------

Were we forced to declare our favorite January albums, we'd certainly give some consideration to Benjamin Booker's sometimes challenging Lower.  Booker talks to Paste about creating a record at the intersection of Mobb Deep and Jesus & Mary Chain.

--------------------------

Was it last week we fangirled here about the onstage reunion of Alabama Shakes? Well, Stereogum (again (again)) points to a possibly tease of something more. In case Brittany Howard's new hardcore band Kumite doesn't do it for you.

--------------------------

Didn't MJ Lenderman already play the Tiny Desk? Apparently not, at least not until this week. Oh, and you'll also want to check out Faye Webster's very good Tiny Desk

--------------------------

Were we forced to declare our favorite January albums, we'd certainly give some consideration to Olivia Wolf's Silver Rounds. Bluegrass Situation asks her five (5) questions, and hears of her love for Daft Punk.

--------------------------

Americana Highways asks Ethan Anderson of Massy Ferguson questions he's likely never been asked, and readers like us reap the rewards.

--------------------------

Luke Bell would have celebrated his 35 birthday this week. In memorium, Western AF assembled a suitable video tribute featuring JP Harris, Kristina Murray, the Deslondes and more.

A Routes & Branches Guide To Feeding Your Monster is our zealously updated new release calendar. Since last week, we've added copious amounts of new stuff, including Charley Crockett's first project for his new label home. Lonesome Drifter is set for a March 14 release on Island Records. It's really been about fourteen years since the last true Alison Krauss & Union Station studio record. That will change on March 28 with the release of Arcadia (Down the Road). The album-length collaboration between Julien Bakes and TORRES has been hinted about for many months. This week, Matador announced an April 18 street date for Send a Prayer My Way. This week Mike Frazier proclaimed his intentions to share a follow up to last year's Secrets Of Atlantis. April Days will land on digital shelves on April 25 (Geneva). Finally, May 30 will mark the return of Anderson East. His Worthy will arrive courtesy of the Rounder label.
