Well, as of right now I'm resenting the fact that Blogger:
1) can't understand when I want to suppress bold text, and
2) has temporarily disappeared my posts for the last few months ...
... but more the latter than the former.
Poo.
Well, assuming that my 20 minutes of work posting this morning's Episode won't be wasted, I'll go ahead and do that.
Another week for quality new music, including the eagerly-awaited Neko Case, Justin Townes Earle, and a woman sporting the Worst Band Name Of the Year (so far): Vanessa Peters & Ice Cream On Mondays. Reminds me of a Facebook update: "Glenn is enjoying peaches". That's what I'll call my band: Scott Foley and Glenn Is Enjoying Peaches. Rekindles my concern for the day when we run out of band names and have to update the old ones. Colorado Beatles anyone?

I didn't get The Deep Dark Woods new disk and I haven't been able to listen to your show. I liked their last CD, what's your opinion of this new one?
I also never got your opinion of The Deep Vibration? It seems to be getting panned by the critics I read yet I absoltuely love the EP. I see you're playing it... is that an endorsement?

I received the DDW CD from the band itself, and find it an effective cross between, say, The Band and Fleet Foxes. A wide stride forward from their last disc.
I first previewed an advance copy of the Deep Vibration late last year, and was unimpressed enough to just set it aside (despite the fact that Dualtone can do some good stuff). I only dug it up again on your recommendation, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I like the singer's vocals, and the messy way they have with a song. Not huge on the Gillian Welch-assisted tune, but figured it's as good a starting place as any, so ...
